Taxonomy
Kepplerites was named by Neumayr and Uhlig (1892) [Sepkoski's age data: J Bath-u J Call-l]. It is not extant. Its type is Ammonites keppleri.

It was assigned to Cosmoceratidae by Imlay (1953); to Kosmoceratidae by Arkell et al. (1957); and to Ammonoidea by Sepkoski (2002).
