Taxonomy

Metatissotia was named by Hyatt (1903) [Sepkoski's age data: K Coni-u Sepkoski's reference number: 1066].

It was assigned to Tissotiidae by Hyatt (1903), Kennedy (1984), Kennedy (1995), Wright et al. (1996); and to Ammonoidea by Sepkoski (2002).

Synonyms

Dordiella was named by Reyment (1958). Its type is Dordiella bakundu.

It was synonymized subjectively with Metatissotia by Kennedy (1984), Kennedy (1995).
