Taxonomy

Morrisiceras is a genus. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Macrocephalitidae by Arkell et al. (1957); to Ammonoidea by Sepkoski (2002); and to Tulitidae by Besnosov and Mitta (1993) and Zatoń (2010).

It was synonymized subjectively with Morrisiceras by Besnosov and Mitta (1993) and Zatoń (2010).

It was assigned to Macrocephalitidae by Arkell et al. (1957); and to Ammonoidea by Sepkoski (2002).
Holzbergia was named by Torrens (1971) [Sepkoski's age data: J Bath-m]. Its type is Berbericeras schwandorfense.

It was reranked as Morrisiceras (Holzbergia) by Besnosov and Mitta (1993); it was synonymized subjectively with Morrisiceras by Zatoń (2010).

It was assigned to Morrisiceras by Besnosov and Mitta (1993); and to Ammonoidea by Sepkoski (2002).
Morrisites was named by Buckman (1920).

It was synonymized subjectively with Morrisiceras by Zatoń (2010).
Pionoceras was named by Lissajous (1923).

It was synonymized subjectively with Morrisiceras by Besnosov and Mitta (1993) and Zatoń (2010).
