Taxonomy

Neocraspedites was named by Spath (1923) [Sepkoski's age data: K Vala-u]. Its type is Craspedites semilaevis.

It was reranked as Tollia (Neocraspedites) by Alsen (2006).

It was assigned to Polyptychitinae by Jeletzky and Kemper (1988); to Ammonoidea by Imlay (1960), Sepkoski (2002); and to Tollia by Alsen (2006).
