Victoriaster lamberti was named by Sanchez Roig (1923). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Canteras del Tejar "Consuelo", which is in a Miocene marine horizon in Cuba.
It was recombined as Lambertona lamberti by Kier (1984).
