Prohauericeras was named by Nowak (1913) [Sepkoski's age data: K Turo-l]. It is not extant. Its type is Ammonites goupilianus.
It was assigned to Forbesiceratinae by Wright (1952); to Acanthoceratinae by Wright et al. (1996); and to Ammonoidea by Sepkoski (2002).
