Taxonomy
Gryphaea pseudovesicularis was named by Gümbel (1861). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Pycnodonta pseudovesicularis by Traub (1938); it was recombined as Pycnodonte (Phygraea) pseudovesicularis by Squires and Demetrion (1990).
