Sigaloceras was named by Hyatt (1900) [Sepkoski's age data: J Call-l]. It is not extant. Its type is Ammonites calloviensis.
It was assigned to Kosmoceratidae by Arkell et al. (1957); and to Ammonoidea by Sepkoski (2002).
