Ptyonius olisthmonaias
Taxonomy
Ptyonius olisthmonaias was named by Thayer (1985). Its type specimen is UALP 5264, a set of vertebrae (single caudal vertebra lacking the neural spine), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Swisshelm Mts. amphibian site, which is in a Westphalian A/Westphalian B shallow subtidal limestone in the Black Prince Limestone Formation of Arizona.
