Taxonomy
Poliniciella marylandica was named by Petuch (1988). Its type specimen is ANSP 52857, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Chancellor Point [St. Marys Fm], which is in a Miocene coastal sandstone in the St Marys Formation of Maryland.
