Taxonomy

Tragodesmoceras was named by Spath (1922) [Sepkoski's age data: K Turo-l K Coni]. Its type is Desmoceras clypealoides.

It was assigned to Ammonoidea by Sepkoski (2002); and to Muniericeratidae by Matsumoto (1959), Cobban (1972), Cobban and Hook (1983) and Ifrim and Stinnesbeck (2007).
