Araripesuchus wegeneri
Taxonomy
Araripesuchus wegeneri was named by Buffetaut (1981). Its type specimen is MNHN GDF700, a partial skeleton (snout with articulated upper and lower jaws preserved to mid-orbit on right side), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Camp des deux arbres, Gadoufaoua, which is in an Albian terrestrial horizon in the Elrhaz Formation of Niger.
It was considered a nomen dubium by Ortega et al. (2000).
