Taxonomy
Hemicerithium craticulum was named by Hoerle (1972). Its type specimen is USNM 646952, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is TU 998 - Tenmile Creek [Chipola Fm], which is in a Burdigalian marine marl/sandstone in the Chipola Formation of Florida.
