Oliva (Oliva) blowi was named by Drez (1981). It is extant. Its type specimen is USNM 247889, a shell. Its type locality is TU 459 - Taylor Branch, which is in a Burdigalian marine marl/sandstone in the Chipola Formation of Florida.
