Oliva (Oliva) vokesorum was named by Drez (1981). Its type specimen is USNM 247893, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is TU 951 - Tenmile Creek, which is in a Burdigalian marine marl/sandstone in the Chipola Formation of Florida.
