Taxonomy
Eleganuculana was named by Chen and Yang (1983) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr u Sepkoski's reference number: ZR83]. It is not extant. Its type is Eleganuculana nyeruensis.

It was assigned to Nuculoida by Sepkoski (2002); to Nuculanidae by Chen et al. (1983), Fang et al. (2009), Ros-Franch et al. (2014); and to Veteranellinae by Ayoub-Hannaa et al. (2017).
