Taxonomy

Eoscapherpeton was named by Nessov (1981). Its type is Eoscapherpeton asiaticum. It is the type genus of Eoscapherpetontinae.

It was assigned to Caudata by Nessov (1981); to Eoscapherpetontinae by Nessov (1997), Shishkin (2000); and to Cryptobranchidae by Skutschas (2009).

Synonyms

Mynbulakia was named by Nessov (1981). Its type is Mynbulakia surgayi.

It was synonymized subjectively with Eoscapherpeton by Skutschas (2009).

It was assigned to Caudata by Nessov (1981); and to Batrachosauroididae by Nessov (1988), Shishkin (2000).
