Taxonomy
Amazonoproductus amazonensis was named by Chen et al. (2004). Its type locality is Caima Quarry 2, which is in a Morrowan marine limestone/lime mudstone in the Itaituba Formation of Brazil. It is the type species of Amazonoproductus.
