Taxonomy
Claraia diana was named by Guo (1985). Its type specimen is IVy 0112, a valve (Left valve, external mold), and it is a mold. Its type locality is Luogu Lake, Ninglang County, which is in a Wuchiapingian/Changhsingian marine horizon in China.
It was recombined as Claraioides dianus by Fang (1993).
