Rhabdotites inclinatus was named by Mostler (1972). It is considered to be a form taxon. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Vorderes Sonnwendjoch, Tirol, which is in a Hettangian/Sinemurian carbonate limestone in Austria.
