Semperitidae was named by Mostler (1970). It is not extant. It is considered to be a form taxon.

It was assigned to Echinodermata by Kozur and Mostler (1989); and to Holothuroidea by Mostler (1970), Mostler (1972) and Krainer and Mostler (1997).
