Uncinulina acanthica was named by Mostler (1972). It is considered to be a form taxon. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Kälbersteinbruch, Berchtesgarten, which is in a Lacian marine limestone in the Hallstätterkalk Formation of Germany.
