Chiridota gracillima was named by Whidborne (1883). It is considered to be a form taxon.

It was recombined as Chiridotites gracillimus by Deflandre-Rigaud (1950); it was recombined as Myriotrochites gracillimus by Deflandre-Rigaud (1952), Deflandre-Rigaud (1962).
