Taxonomy
Acanthorota permiana was named by Kozur and Mostler (2008). It is considered to be a form taxon. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Sample U184, Cherry Canyon, Delaware basin, which is in a Wordian slope limestone in the Cherry Canyon Formation of Texas.
