Taxonomy
Thuroholia wanlessi was named by Summerson and Campbell (1958). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Holotype No. TC 86, University of Kentucky and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Cow Creek, Prestonsburg, Floyd County, which is in a Pennsylvanian marine shale in the Breathitt Formation of Kentucky.
