Taxonomy
Colospongia arakeljani was named by Zhuravleva (1991). Its type specimen is TsSGM 456/1, specimen 1, slide 3 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Danzik, Arpa River, which is in a Wordian carbonate limestone in the Arpa Formation of Azerbaijan.
