Parapenascoceras aberrans
Taxonomy
Metacoceras aberrans was named by Miller and Unklesbay (1942) [University of New Mexico]. Its type specimen is UNM 315 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Bluewater Dam, which is in a Kungurian coastal siliciclastic in the Chupadera Formation of New Mexico.
It was recombined as Stearoceras aberrans by Miller and Youngquist (1949); it was recombined as Parapenascoceras aberrans by Ruzhentsev and Shimanskiy (1954).
