Taxonomy
Streblotrypa elegans was named by Sakagami (1970). Its type specimen is WKM-2-83b and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Ko Muk WKM-2, which is in a Roadian carbonate limestone in the Rat Buri Formation of Thailand.
It was recombined as Streblotrypa (Streblotrypa) elegans by Ernst et al. (2008), Ernst et al. (2009).
