Taxonomy
Strigogoniatites fountaini was named by Miller and Furnish (1940). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USGS 7663, Patterson Hills, Guadalupe Mountains, which is in a Capitanian slope rudstone in the Bell Canyon Formation of Texas.
