Argopecten diminutivus

Taxonomy
Pecten (Plagioctenium) diminutivus was named by Hertlein and Jordan (1927). Its type specimen is LSJU 60, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is LSJU Loc. 60, Scammon Lagoon, which is in a Miocene marine sandstone in the Isidro Formation of Mexico.

It was synonymized subjectively with Pecten (Aequipecten) andersoni by Grant and IV and Gale (1931); it was recombined as Argopecten diminutivus by Moore (1984).
