Wu et al. 2011"A small- to medium-sized eosauropterygian differing from others in the following combination of derived characters: skull with an elongated and pointed rostrum; a large number (in excess of 65) of small teeth in both jaws, with basally expanded crowns, and pointed tips; replacement teeth held at base of lingual surface of functional teeth; elongated, elliptical external naris; jugal inserting between postorbital and squamosal posterodorsally; broadened supratemporal arch; frontal with a large posterolateral process approaching supratemporal fenestra; retroarticular process short but robust, with no dorsal fossa; three to five caudal ribs; scapular blade with a distinct distal expansion; interclavicle sharply rhomboidal in outline; plate-like pubis roughly rectangular in outline; plate-like ischium with a short but broad iliac process; metacarpals I and II are similar in length to V and IV, respectively, and metatarsals I and III are similar in length to V and IV, respectively."
