Taxonomy
Spirifer joharensis was named by Diener (1897). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Dharma No. XI, Lissar Valley, Johar, which is in a Wuchiapingian marine shale in the Productus Shale Formation of India.
It was recombined as Pteroplecta joharensis by Waterhouse (1983), Waterhouse (2004).
