Taxonomy
Permanomia was named by Newell and Boyd (1970) [Sepkoski's age data: P Leon-l P Guad-l Sepkoski's reference number: 103]. Its type is Permanomia texana.

It was assigned to Anomiidae by Vokes (1980); to Pterioida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Permanomiidae by Bouchet et al. (2010).
