Taxonomy
Girtyporina applicata was named by Morozova (1966). Its type specimen is PIN 1692/328 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Dolgoshchel'ye Village, Kuloy River, Arkhangel Region, which is in a Roadian marine horizon in the Kazan Formation of the Russian Federation.
