Taxonomy

Palaeoneilo shaoyangensis was named by Fang (1987). Its type specimen is NIGP 71582, a valve (Right valve), and it is a mold. Its type locality is Mayuanli, Jiugongqiao, Shaoyang County, which is in a Wuchiapingian marine mudstone in the Douling Formation of China.

Synonyms

Palaeoneilo qinzhouensis was named by He et al. (2007). Its type specimen is GD-13-24, a valve (Right valve internal mold), and it is a mold. Its type locality is Dongpan section, bed 13-6, Fusui County, which is in a Griesbachian basinal (siliciclastic) claystone in the Luolou Formation of China.

It was synonymized subjectively with Palaeoneilo shaoyangensis by Fang (2010).
