Lopingoceras lopingense
Taxonomy
Orthoceras lopingense was named by Stoyanow (1910). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Araxes River canyon, bed 7, which is in a Wuchiapingian marine marl in the Julfa Formation of Azerbaijan.
It was recombined as Lopingoceras lopingense by Teichert and Kummel (1973), Zhao et al. (1978), Zheng (1984), Liang (1984), Shimanskiy (1996).
