Taxonomy
Qiyangia was named by Chen and Xu (1980) [Sepkoski's age data: J l J m Sepkoski's reference number: ZR86,ZR90]. It is not extant. Its type is Qiyangia loxos.
It was assigned to Unionidae by Chen and Xu (1980); to Pterioida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Qiyangiinae by Fang et al. (2009), Bouchet et al. (2010).
