Taxonomy
Pessopteryx nisseri was named by Wiman (1910). It is not extant. Its type locality is Isfjord area, which is in a Spathian marine horizon in the Vikinghøgda Formation of Svalbard and Jan Mayen.
It was considered a nomen dubium by McGowan and Motani (2003).
