Taxonomy
Vulsella was named by Ršding (1798) [Sepkoski's age data: T Than R Sepkoski's reference number: 1066]. It is extant.

It was assigned to Pterioida by Sepkoski (2002); to Vulsellidae by Eames (1951) and Bouchet et al. (2010); and to Malleidae by Adegoke (1977), Vokes (1980), Moore (1983), Lamprell and Healy (1998) and Moneer et al. (2024).
