Taxonomy
Corrugopecten altoprimus was named by Waterhouse (1982). Its type specimen is NZGS TM3551 and is a mold. Its type locality is GS3616, Productus Creek, Letham Burn (D44/f9478), which is in a Wordian marine horizon in the Mangarewa Formation of New Zealand.
