Taxonomy
Kaibabella (Flattopia) axinia was named by Waterhouse (1987). Its type specimen is UQ F74373, a valve (Left valve), and it is a mold. Its type locality is UQ L4594, quarry along highway north of Theodore, Bowen Basin, which is in a Wuchiapingian coastal siliciclastic in the Flat Top Formation of Australia.
