Taxonomy

Pojetaia was named by Jell (1980) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm Atda-l Cm lMid]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Praenuculidae by Bengtson et al. (1990); to Radiidentoidei by Parkhaev (2001); to Nuculoida by Sepkoski (2002); to Fordillidae by Elicki and Gürsu (2009); and to Bivalvia by Nevesskaja (2009), Kouchinsky et al. (2011).

Synonyms

Buluniella was named by Jermak (1986) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm l Sepkoski's reference number: ZR87].

It was synonymized subjectively with Fordilla by Runnegar and Pojeta (1992); it was synonymized subjectively with Pojetaia by Elicki and Gürsu (2009).

It was assigned to Modiomorphoida by Sepkoski (2002).
Jellia was named by Li and Zhou (1986) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm l Sepkoski's reference number: ZR86]. It is not extant. Its type is Jellia elliptica.

It was synonymized subjectively with Pojetaia by Geyer and Streng (1998), Parkhaev (2001), Fang et al. (2009).

It was assigned to Modiomorphoida by Sepkoski (2002).
Oryzoconcha was named by He and Pei (1985).

It was synonymized subjectively with Pojetaia by Runnegar and Pojeta (1992), Hinz-Schallreuter (2000), Parkhaev (2001), Fang et al. (2009).

Gürsu 2009	Tiny bivalve (less than 2 mm), subequivalved, suboval to slightly elongated; umbo central to subcentral and prosogyral; ligament straight and opisthodetic-parivincular; dentition is of one to three teeth (one to two in each valve); posteriorly a more-or-less developed auricle; externally fine comarginal growth lines and faint ribs dorsoanteriorly; small anterior adductor muscle, posterior adductor muscle sizeable, pallial muscles arranged comarginally as a series of discrete nodes.
