Osteomya (Yunnanomya) lubeiensis was named by Guo (1985). Its type specimen is IVy 0211, a valve (Right valve, external mold), and it is a mold. Its type locality is Lubei, Huize County, which is in an Anisian marine horizon in the Leikoupo Formation of China.
