Taxonomy
Bakevellia peralta was named by Guo (1985). Its type specimen is IVy 0141, a valve (Left valve, internal mold), and it is a mold. Its type locality is Pifu, Yanyuan County, which is in an Induan/Olenekian marine horizon in the Lamei Formation of China.
