Taxonomy
Schizodus dianensis was named by Guo (1985). Its type specimen is IVy 0133, a valve (Right valve, internal mold), and it is a mold. Its type locality is Laochang, Yujia, Xuanwei Fm, Fuyuan County, which is in a Changhsingian marine horizon in the Xuanwei Formation of China.
