Taxonomy
Vermispongiella delijanensis was named by Senowbari-Daryan (2005). Its type locality is Delijan reefs, Delijan area, Central Iran, which is in a Sevatian reef, buildup or bioherm reef rocks in the Nayband Formation of Iran.
