Taxonomy
Polysphenodon muelleri was named by Jaeckel (1911). Its type specimen is MB R 1032, a partial skeleton, and it is a mold. Its type locality is Hoffmannsthal near Fallersleben, which is in a Carnian/Norian terrestrial horizon in Germany.
