Taxonomy
Exaeretodon statisticae was named by Chatterjee (1982). Its type specimen is ISI R304, a partial skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Venkatapur village, which is in a Carnian/Norian terrestrial claystone in the Maleri Formation of India.
