Taxonomy
Eoschizodus was named by Cox (1951) [Sepkoski's age data: D Give Tr Anis-l Sepkoski's reference number: 1066]. It is not extant. Its type is Megalodus truncatus.

It was assigned to Myophoriidae by Vokes (1980); to Trigonioida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Eoschizodidae by Amler (2010), Bouchet et al. (2010).
