Taxonomy
Nerinea gachupinae was named by Alencaster (1977). Its type specimen is IGM-2326 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is La Gachupina, which is in a Kimmeridgian shallow subtidal limestone/marl in the San Ricardo Formation of Mexico.
